1pm-3pm | Florida Laws and Rules Update

Amy has been teaching Florida Laws and Rules since 2005, and is now serving on the Florida Board of Acupuncture. Every renewal cycle, she designs a new course – fulfilling the requirement for the Acupuncture profession. She starts with “What is New Since Last Renewal”, and “any potential upcoming future changes”, and then the rest of the presentation dials in deeper to a few selected practical topics. There have been several new things that have changed since our last renewal cycle. Important ones that everyone should know. Including a new requirement for background checks for all licensees and applicants. All of these will be covered and explained. Along with other new things and a status reports of future projects of the Board.

3:30pm-5:30pm | Safety and Medical Errors Update

This course satisfies the Florida requirement for “Medical Errors” as well as the NCCAOM requirement for “Safety”, and has been designed to be interesting and provide usable information – directly related to Oriental Medical practice. It is not Florida specific, so is appropriate for anyone licensed anywhere. It is laid out in a practical way and provides practical solutions.  It focuses on the types of things that are actually occurring around the country – how we can learn from them, and easy things to do to prevent them.   Most are very preventable with knowledge and awareness.  The information is the course includes risk management, and will specifically help the attendee lower the likelihood of practice related claims against them.

These courses are required for acupuncture license renewal in Florida.
