A respected healthcare career

Career options in healthcare are expanding as acupuncture becomes more integrated into the traditional healthcare model.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the projected growth rate for acupuncturists is 5%, or as fast as average. But when you consider the increasing demand for holistic medicine and the growing body of research on the effectiveness of acupuncture, the job outlook for acupuncturists looks promising.

Why choose Academy for Five Element Acupuncture?

We are a not-for-profit graduate institution and one of only two accredited acupuncture and East Asian medicine institutions in the country offering a curriculum with a dedicated focus on the Five Element tradition. In addition to our Master of Acupuncture degree program, we also offer a Certificate in Chinese Herbal Medicine program. Taken together, these two programs enable students to integrate the physical symptoms of illness without separating emotional and spiritual ailments. This approach provides a truly holistic system of medicine.

It’s a calling, this Five Element work. If you chose to stay with the calling, in time the nature of the work will teach you things deep and wonderful – in yourself as well as all people. Dan Sachs (35-year practitioner) Classical Five-Element Acupuncture provides a framework to enable us to discern and liberate conditions of our physical, mental, and spiritual vitality such that life purposes are more easily fulfilled; whether due to no longer being distracted by a rash, or once again seeing the opportunity of a great future where despair and depression once was. Robie Murdoch (32-year practitioner) Learning the skill of seeing color, smelling odor, hearing sound, and feeling emotion is exhilarating; providing a poetic way to walk in the world that is not just a technique. Susan Weiser-Mason (33-year practitioner) This medicine reminds me of the oneness of all and the connections that we share. As patient and practitioner, it has certainly broadened my horizon and added to my appreciation of life. I am glad to have been called. Chuck Graham (17-year practitioner) It is a true gift to be part of the process of returning someone to their fundamental nature, and to watch them grow and shine. I am filled with gratitude to work in this medicine, in this tradition, at this school, and to continue to learn from my colleagues, students, and patients. Misti Oxford-Pickeral (15-year practitioner)
