To complete the application process, please submit the following items along with your completed application:
“Why do you want to study acupuncture? Why are you interested in the Five Element tradition?”
The recommended length for the essay is 300 words. We do not count individual words; however, if your essay exceeds several typed pages, you should consider editing it. Please make sure that you directly answer the questions being asked of you. The essay is an important element of the application.
Official transcripts must be sent directly to the Academy. We do not accept unofficial transcripts or student copies of transcripts. Your undergraduate institution may offer the option of sending your transcripts via a secured electronic source for faster processing. The Academy does accept electronic copies of official transcripts, provided that the transcripts are sent by official electronic security sources. Please contact your undergraduate institution for more information. High school transcripts are not necessary.
Once transcripts have been evaluated, you will then receive a Transcript Evaluation Form explaining how your previous credits will be used to meet program requirements.
Recommendations should come from individuals who have known you a minimum of two years and can speak to your strengths as a future practitioner. These may be supervisors, long-time colleagues, previous instructors and acupuncture practitioners. Letters from relatives will not be accepted.
Please send the photo as an image file attachment, .jpg or .tiff.
After all materials have been received, the Admissions Coordinator will contact you to schedule an interview with an Admissions Committee member. Interviews can be conducted in-person, by video conference, or by phone.
You will be notified of your acceptance status within two weeks of the interview and pending review by the Admissions Committee. All fees and documents must be received by this time. Students have access to the Academy’s Catalog prior to signing the Enrollment Agreement.
