Academy faculty and clinical supervisor Jennifer Downey, B.A., M.A.O.M, A.P. (FL) was recently honored at the Gainesville Alumni of Asian Medicine banquet, and the Mayor of Gainesville, Harvey Ward, has proclaimed November 2nd as “Jennifer Downey Day” in recognition of her many years of service to the local acupuncture community. Academy staff, faculty and students attended the awards banquet, along with staff and students from Dragon Rises College of Oriental Medicine.

Jennifer Downey graduated with a degree in music from University of Florida. She received her Masters of Oriental Medicine from Dragon Rises College of Oriental Medicine in 2002, served as the Director of Herbal Studies at the Academy for several years, and has been a faculty member and herbal clinic supervisor for more than a decade. Jennifer maintains a private practice in Gainesville, FL and also teaches Japanese-style acupuncture and qigong.
